    Dear Colleagues,

We hope that you had a peaceful and relaxing holiday season and that the coming year will be a terrific one for all.

We are looking forward to seeing many of you at EB 2018 in San Diego and, in particular, at our anatomy education symposium titled "Teaching and Assessing Integrated Medical Histology Curricula: Approaches, Student Outcomes and Lessons Learned". At this point we are reaching out to enquire whether any of you DHIGers wish to directly join us and be a speaker at this symposium. We've unfortunately had one of our speakers retract their abstract and so we are keen to hear from you if you are integrating histology with any other discipline in your teaching and you wish to share your experiences in a presentation at the AAA meeting.

The symposium is scheduled for Monday, April 23rd from 4:00 - 5:30 p.m. and you will be given a 30 minute time slot. You may choose to present individually or co-present with a colleague. While you may focus on a teaching technique or curricular innovation, some data and results also need to be included as this is an educational research symposium. The other two time slots are being presented by Drs. Karen Pinder and Jennifer Eastwood (a joint presentation titled "A Tale of Two Approaches: Results from Integrating Medical Histology and Pathology") and Dr. Stefanie Attardi ("Medical Student Learning Experiences in Organ System Course Sessions using a Histology and Embryology Team-taught Integrated Format").

If you wish to give a presentation that harmonizes with this anatomy education symposium, please reach out to us by email: k.pinder@ubc.cajeastwood@bcomnm.org and sattardi@oakland.edu. Kindly note that we are unable to register a speaker who presented last year at EB 2017 in Chicago; this is a AAA policy. You will need to submit a short abstract in the next few weeks, but the good news is that AAA pays for speakers' abstract fees, as well as the conference registration fee. In addition, there is some funding for travel expenses that we will be dividing between the speakers.

If you are interested in this opportunity or have any questions, we very much look forward to hearing from you.

    Our best,
    Karen, Jenny and Stef
