I am a functional morphologist interested in the feeding biology of mammals. My research investigates the associations among the mechanical properties of diet, phenotypic plasticity, and ontogeny/aging in masticatory tissues (e.g. bone, muscle, and cartilage).

I am also a medical educator in the anatomical sciences. I teach gross anatomy, neuroanatomy, embryology, and histology to students in the health sciences professions.

Diversity and Inclusion

The board recently adopted a Diversity and Inclusion Plan and incorporated it into the AAA Strategic Plan. As part of the plan, AAA is working to ensure all members are represented in all its committees, and are supported equally in awards and other opportunities. The detailed information requested below would contribute to a better understanding of the demographic of the AAA members. Each choice is optional, and you may request that particular fields remain hidden in your public profile. Please be aware that all choices completed will be visible to AAA administrative staff. Thank you for helping us meet our goals for AAA diversity and inclusion.
