Hello Dave,
We have used Olympus since 2005 but have not upgraded to their Net Image Server. We have images scanned by Olympus (Bacus back when we did it) that are now served on our server, we also have access to the Collection coming out of Chicago.
So I cannot speak to their new system of viewing slides.
I like the quality of the images from our slide set (about 120 images) that they scanned for us. We also have access to about 3200 slides from their main server (the Chicago one, I think) even though it does move slower.
I liked their sync feature -- a student could sync on my screen and we could move around and chat via the chat feature.
Hope this helps some.
Bill

Subject: VM Vendor Selection
Hi DHIG Members,
Our school has set aside money to contract with a virtual microscope vendor. Four vendors have been identified, Zoomify, Olympus Net Image Server, Aperio/Leica Digital Slide Box and Biolucida for MedEd. I would appreciate receiving feedback, positive and negative, from anyone who has or is currently using these vendors. Also if you know of any additional vendors that we should consult, please send me their contact information. We want a system that has a very friendly user interface, is flexible and can be used on multiple platforms, devices and from multiple sites.
Thanks,
Dave
