I want to first apologize for the scant amount of communication in the past few months due to the craziness of Fall semester. But I assure you that we have been working pretty hard so here is a quick update on the progress of the International Virtual Microscopy Slide Repository funded through the AAA's Innovation grant!
We have been working with a Project Manager (Falecia Stuckey, MBA PMP) and have identified MBF Biosciences as our virtual slide data management solution - all upload and download of digital data files will occur via their platform.
We have selected a company to create a IVMSR website that will serve as the interface to access the repository content.
What remains to be done is identifying a server solution to store all the digital slide files - we are currently looking at Amazon cloud (AWS). Please let us know if you have any good leads or suggestions on a reliable (and cost-efficient) server solution for the repository.
Once we start putting together the website, we will be seeking your input on optimal design and for beta-testing.
Lastly, we will probably need to create a logo for AAA-IVMSR so if there are any artistic and creative ideas out there, we would love to hear/see your ideas.
