    I definitely think such a shared repository would be a good idea. It would
    1. save everyone redoing work
    2. allow the best slides to become available to everyone
    3. allow students to see the variation on a topic.

    I would however coin that such a repository preferably should be international.
    Re. copyrights, to make it viable and workable I think the submitted slides should be under an open license, the most common  for this is a Creative Commons license.

    If indeed an international depository were possible, it might be helpful to develop an online comment/rating system for the slides. These are large enough files that the server space to accommodate them could become difficult to afford and some limits on duplication might be important to build into the system.
