I am course directors for anatomy (gross anatomy, embryology, and dissection laboratory) and human genetics in the preclinical curriculum at UC Davis School of Medicine. In this role, I oversee the design of learning material and implementation of active learning sessions such as hands-on anatomy laboratory, Team-Based Learning, and Case-Based Learning. In teaching, I focus on integration of basic and clinical sciences, so students understand the relevance of basic science content. My interests in medical education research include learner outcome assessments, use of innovative pedagogies, and intellectual disability education.
